The Austin Ambassador, produced from 1982 to 1984, was essentially a restyled Princess with a more upmarket image. Today, these cars are rare survivors, often cherished by enthusiasts drawn to their spacious interiors and quirky British character. Given their age and limited numbers, any Ambassador you find will need careful inspection for corrosion, mechanical wear, and originality of parts. Most examples were fitted with either the 1.7-litre or 2.0-litre O-Series petrol engines, which are generally robust if maintained but can suffer from neglect.
