Terms of Service
Plain English: By using Folt you agree to these terms. Our reports are informational tools — not guarantees. Use the service honestly. Our liability is limited to the cost of the check itself.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using folt.co.uk ("the Service") you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is operated by Folt, a trading name of RYM Property Limited, Company No. 15613602, registered in England and Wales.
2. The Service
Folt provides vehicle history reports for UK-registered vehicles, compiled from third-party sources including the DVLA, DVSA MOT history API, and Vehicle History data from Experian. Folt Reports are informational tools to assist buyers in identifying potential risk factors. They do not constitute a guarantee, warranty, or professional advice about any vehicle.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using folt.co.uk you confirm you are 18 or over and using the Service for lawful purposes within the United Kingdom.
4. Payments & Refunds
4.1 Pay-per-check
All checks are purchased on a pay-per-use basis, processed through Stripe. There are no subscriptions or recurring charges. Your report is delivered immediately on payment.
4.2 Refunds
Because reports are digital and delivered immediately, we do not generally offer refunds once a check has been run. Exceptions: if a report was not delivered due to a technical error on our part we will re-run the check or issue a full refund if it is not sent from our servers within 60 minutes of payment; duplicate charges within 24 hours are refunded on request. A clean report sent from our servers within 60 minutes of payment is a positive outcome and does not constitute grounds for a refund.
Reports constitute digital content supplied on demand. In accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, your cancellation right does not apply once delivery has begun with your prior consent, which is confirmed at the point of purchase.
4.3 Pricing changes
Prices are displayed at checkout and may change at any time. The price shown at time of purchase is the price you pay.
5. Data Accuracy & Limitations
Important: Folt reports are generated from third-party databases. We cannot guarantee their completeness, accuracy, or currency. A clean report does not mean a vehicle is problem-free.
Known limitations include: write-off records depend on insurer reporting; Vehicle History Report data depends on lender registration and is provided and guaranteed by Experian under their data guarantee terms and conditions; stolen vehicle records depend on police reporting; mileage data is based on MOT records only. We strongly recommend a physical inspection by a qualified mechanic before any purchase.
6. Acceptable Use
You must not use the Service to: harvest data systematically; resell or redistribute reports without written permission; facilitate fraud or criminal activity; run automated checks without prior written consent; introduce malware or harmful code; or impersonate any person or entity.
Breach may result in immediate suspension and referral to law enforcement.
7. Intellectual Property
The Folt name, logo, and all original content are the intellectual property of RYM Property Limited. Report outputs are licensed for personal, non-commercial use. You may share a report with a mechanic or adviser for the purpose of evaluating the specific vehicle, but may not distribute reports commercially.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. FOLT REPORTS ARE INFORMATIONAL ONLY AND DO NOT CONSTITUTE LEGAL OR FINANCIAL ADVICE OR A PROFESSIONAL VEHICLE ASSESSMENT.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. Our total aggregate liability for any single claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific check giving rise to that claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under English law. Consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably suspect a breach of these Terms or where required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time.
11. Third-Party Services
The Service uses Stripe for payments and third-party data providers, each operating under their own terms. Links to third-party sites do not imply endorsement.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Consumer rights to bring claims in local courts are unaffected. We encourage informal resolution — please contact us first.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. The current version is always at folt.co.uk/terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
